The APC Story

American Print Consultants was born out of the recession of 2010, a time when an increasing number of graphics producers were choosing to keep older equipment running rather than replacing with new. APC Founder, Rob Almstrom identified a unique opportunity to service the customers that many of the "big-box" equipment suppliers had turned their backs on, building a loyal following of repair clients in the process.

By 2015 the number of repair and consulting clients was increasing rapidly, so Rob enlisted help from long-time technician friends Brian Hendricks and Dave Mee. Shortly after, the new new team-of-three began reselling equipment for a number of manufacturers. To keep up Rob's original "Service-First" approach to these sales, the three reached out to their network, adding technicians to provide a superior quality of install and after-sales service. 

A relative few years on and APC is proud to boast one of the largest team of support technicians of any graphics equipment reseller. Knowing that quantity is no match for quality, we honestly believe our team to be made up of the best in the industry. As of early 2024, meet our exceptional team below.

Rob Almstrom

CEO/Visionary/Partner

Rob's intro to the graphics industry began in 2000 when he opened his first sign shop. Discovering that he loved tinkering with machines as much as with logo designs, Rob accepted a position as Technical Director at PA-Based Industrial Print Solutions.

In the years since, Rob has worked servicing all manner of solvent, UV and textile printing equipment and even pounded the streets of Manhattan, selling the digital fabric displays for retail stores.

Today Rob is still our team's go-to guy for questions on Flexi-Sign or anything related to sublimation or digital textile.

Dave Mee

Marketing Director/Partner

Starting as a photographic printer in his native New Zealand, Dave has been involved in visual imaging his whole working life.

Dave's official entry into printer repair came when he took a position with Mimaki USA, discovering he loved repairing machines even more than actually printing on them!

Based in Clinton, NJ, Dave is particularly focused on assisting dye-sub and textile clients.  When not assisting clients, Dave manages our video and marketing.

John Coughlin

CFO/Partner

John joins APC after 36+ years with the LEGO Company. He was fortunate to have spent time in multiple business units while at the LEGO Company. Chief among those were production, customer service, web-shop team, B2B sales, marketing and for the last 19 years in the retail store division. First, as a district manager overseeing between 10 and 15 stores and for the past 8 years overseeing the strategic planning, forecasting and financial management of the retail store business. Yes, he comes from a very large international company but he is excited to work with a smaller company that remains close to its customers.
